PRIVACY POLICY

Attorney Laura Juodakytė (“Attorney”) seeks to ensure privacy and protection of personal data by communicating and providing legal services. The Attorney seeks to reduce any legal and regulatory risks related to privacy and the protection of personal data.

This privacy policy is based on Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (“the Regulation”).

Whose personal data is being processed?

The Attorney shall process the data of the persons with whom she communicates or provides legal services:

  • Potential clients who provide questions or other information to the Attorney
  • Clients with legal services contracts
  • Business Partner employees or other persons with whom the Attorney collaborates
What data is being processed?

The Attorney may process the following data: first name, surname, contact details (email address, telephone number, place of residence (address), workplace and position, correspondence details, other data that you provide in connection with the conclusion and execution of legal service contracts or that the Attorney lawfully collects from appropriate sources for the provision of legal services.

What are the purposes for which the data is processed?

The Attorney shall process the data for the following purposes:

  • Communication with potential clients and other respondents
  • The conclusion and execution of legal services contracts
  • Internal administration
On what grounds are personal data processed?

The Attorney shall process personal data on the following legal basis:

  • Attorney’s legitimate interest
  • To fulfil obligations under the contracts concluded
  • Enforcement of statutory requirements
  • On the basis of consent
How are the data processed?

The Attorney shall process the data accurately, fairly and lawfully to the minimum necessary only for the purposes for which they were collected. Data shall be processed in accordance with the requirements laid down in the Regulation and other legal acts.

The Attorney shall apply appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or other unlawful acts.

How long has the data been stored?

The Attorney shall keep the data within the time limits provided for by legal acts, but for no longer than the purposes for which the data were collected. If the legal acts do not provide for appropriate retention periods, the Attorney shall determine the retention period in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation, taking into account the limitation periods of the action.

Upon expiration of the data retention period, the Attorney shall safely and irrevocably destroy the data processed for the specified purpose.

Cookies can collect IP address, network, or location data, but from the collected data the Attorney cab not identify a specific natural person. 

Data collected by cookies shall be processed on the basis of your consent.

Cookies are saved as soon as you enter the website. You can manage cookies, such as deleting cookies that have already been saved, by visiting the settings of the browser you use. It is possible if cookies are deleted, the website will not work in part or all.  

The Attorney uses Google Analytics as the website’s www.jlaw.lt analysis service tool, which collects and analysis statistics about the use of this website (number of visitors, their actions on the website, frequency of website visits, etc.).

Are data transmitted to third parties?

The Attorney shall use the assistance of third parties (service providers) to the extent necessary to ensure the smooth organization of professional activities or the functioning of the website www.jlaw.lt. Before using third parties, the Attorney assesses whether they will ensure a sufficient level of data security and implement the necessary technical and organizational measures. Processing contracts shall always be concluded with third parties and controlled in accordance with the procedure laid down in the Regulation.

In exceptional cases, where this is necessary for the proper provision of legal services, the Attorneymay transfer the data to third parties located outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the case of litigation).

The Attorney shall not transmit data to international organizations.

What rights do you have and how do you exercise them?

The data subject shall have the following rights:

  • be informed about the processing of your data
  • access to data
  • require correction or deletion or limit data processing
  • disagree with the processing of data
  • obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used, computer readable format and the right to forward it to another controller when technically feasible (right to data portability)

If you intend to exercise your rights, we kindly ask you to contact the Attorney via email laura.juodakyte@jlaw.lt, by sending a request and by providing data enabling you to be identified. The Attorney shall provide an answer not later than within 1 (one) month free of charge, but if the request is unfounded or disproportionate, the Attorney shall have the right to request reimbursement of the costs of providing information or documents or refuse to grant the request.
