Karolis is an IT privacy expert with information technology education, IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe certification and CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) certifications. Karolis is known as a professional who provides services in the areas of cybersecurity, privacy and data protection. He assesses the security of data used by systems and applications, performs audits and inspections, and provides the services of an external Data Protection Officer.

Karolis is one of the first experts in Lithuania who advised clients on the practical implementation of “privacy by design and by default” regulated in the General Data Protection Regulation and implemented it in client business processes, adapted systems and applications to these requirements. In assessing compliance, Karolis tap also relies on the recommendations of ISO 20001 and ISO 27001 and ensures that internal processes are in line with best practice of data and information protection.

Karolis has developed a methodology for assessing data protection risks, which he successfully uses to assess risks to privacy and data protection and makes recommendations due to reduce business risks to privacy.  Karolis shall pay particular attention to the implementation of technical and organisational measures and shall proactively select and recommend them taking into account.

Before becoming an IT privacy professional, Karolis worked for a long time as an IT Project Manager and Microsoft Software Licensing Auditor and gained competencies that enable him to select and offer best solutions that meet clients needs and data protection requirements.

Karolis is a member of the Lithuanian Association of Data Protection Officers.
